Hello, world!
Welcome to another issue of Across the Techverse. Today’s edition is special. We’ve been on pause for a while, dealing with family, work, school, and… life. But now we’re back full throttle with growing the tech writers community on Substack.
In this edition, I want to tell you about some restructuring we’ll be doing to ensure we can consistently provide the value we want for the community while maintaining a sane schedule. I also want to tell you about some upcoming and exciting ideas and events we have planned.
Are you a tech writer? Do you want to belong to a community of like-minded writers, find inspiration and help for your writing, and collaborate with others? Join our community to get yourself included.
🗓 New Semester, New Schedule
After a summer pause, where the three of us here at The Tech Writers Stack editorial team had to take some time to reorganize and adapt to changing life conditions, we’ve designed this new schedule.
Across the Techverse, this newsletter, will become a monthly issue. In every edition, we will tell you what’s happening with the community and announce upcoming events.
The Writers Highlight will continue bi-monthly for as long as we have writers interested in being featured.
We renamed our writing bits section to On Technical Writing, where we will publish cross or guest posts on the art and craft of technical writing as often as we have contributors.
A new section, called The Tech Stack Digest, will come out every week, specifically to bring you a hand-curated selection of the best articles in our community.
We will continue to a weekly discussion thread on some interesting questions regarding technical writing, asking you about the tools, practices, and mindsets you use in your writing endeavor.
We hope this schedule allows us to bring as much value as possible to the community while being manageable on top of our other responsibilities.
We are always looking for contributors, so if you are interested in being featured as a writer, contributing a piece on technical writing, or helping with the editorial work, feel free to reach out.
🤝 The Collaboration Contest continues
We have decided to extend our collaboration contest to allow as many of you as possible to participate. We will receive applications until November 30th, and then we’ll spend the rest of the year in the evaluation/voting process to publish our results in our first issue of 2024.
The conditions to participate are simple: email techwriters@substack.com with a link to an article you have written with a first-time collaborator.
You can submit up to three entries per author. Your coauthors can submit their own entries; you don’t need to submit the same article more than once.
We’re still figuring out the voting process and the prizes, but some of the ideas we want to try are giving away free comps for participants and winners to some of the hottest tech newsletters out there, free copies of books some of our community authors have kindly provided, and a small cash prize in the form of a digital gift card. We will announce further details in another issue.

I was just wondering what was going with this. A break is a wise thing that I have yet to implement.😆
